May This Brighten Your Day

My wife Kristina loves ranunculus. I spent some time arranging this lovely bouquet looking for the right angle, light, colors and texture. By the time I got it right, I became too intimidated to paint it – there were too many things I didn’t yet know how to do. I came back to it after many months, via photograph. The light in this composition came from morning sun streaming through a window right above the wall. The unseen window and wall colors are reflected in the stainless steel table top.
